I purchased my first large kyanite piece last year at the local gem faire. I have been growing my crystal/rock collection for some time, and I felt kyanite would be the perfect addition. Initially I was drawn to this rock because of the various colors it came in. I am especially fond of blue and black Kyanite! The piece I invested in was Blue Kyanite (pictured above). It’s texture also sets it apart from other stones. It is made up of a bunch of shards. Mine pretty much looks like a cluster of shards. This is a big reason why it isn’t often used in jewelry - cutting it can be very difficult. But I have managed to find polished cabs that are suitable for setting in silver. My favorite ring happens to be my most successful Kyanite project.
Kyanite is unable to accumulate nor retain negative energy. It’s a stone that never really needs to be cleansed. It’s often used to cleanse other crystals, and keep all of the energy in it’s area level. Kyanite is believed to be very calming and grounding. Helping aid in relaxation.
