Let’s admit it – masks are super fun! You get to rub weird, and yummy smelling stuff all over your face. Afterwards they leave your skin feeling magical. I felt it was time to do a DIY mask! Since my skin can be rather sensitive I wanted to pick a recipe with very few ingredients. Good for all skin types. The best mask I stumbled upon is about as simple as it gets. It only has two ingredients; honey and green tea. That's really all you need because even alone these ingredients are super good for your skin, and body.
Green Tea- It’s loaded with antioxidants, which help fight inflammation and bacteria. The tannins in green tea act as an astringent which shrink pores. It naturally exfoliates the skin, removing dead skin cells. Green tea can also reduce under eye puffiness.
Honey- It’s naturally antibacterial, so it's great for acne treatment and prevention. Improving your complexion by moisturizing and soothing your skin. It has antioxidants that help slow down aging.
Here is what you need...
4 bags of green tea
2 tbsp. of raw honey
2-3 tbsp. of water
1. Grab spoon and small bowl to mix ingredients in
2. Open tea bags and pour into bowl
3. Mix warm water into loose tea until it seems moist
4. Stir honey into tea mixture
5. Apply to face with fingers
6. Let dry for 15 minutes
7. Wash off with warm water
DISCLAIMER- It is so messy! Apply over a sink or towel. It works best if you just pat it on your skin.
My skin truly felt so amazing afterwards! Super soft, and smelt so good (I love green tea lol) … I plan to do this 2-3 times a week! So easy, and affordable.
Do it with a friend! It's fun and silly. I did it with my roommate, Hannah!
